Ewe – Good Luck Minis
A Ewe is an adult female sheep, while Rams are adult males. All of the hundreds of breeds of domestic sheep descend from wild sheep. The breeds may be distinguished by their wool, growth rates, adult size, face color, tail length, and even adaptability to terrain.
History
Sheep are raised primarily for their wool, of course, but wool is not only an historically significant commodity; it’s also a modern marvel. Because of its ability to heat and cool the wearer, repel water, and resist wind, humans uséd wool from wild sheep even before they began domesticating the animals. Dogs were the first animals to be domesticated, but sheep may have been the second, and the dogs naturally were a great help in keeping the flocks. Although history is often a story of great deeds and dangerous adventures, many of those feats were performed by people wearing wool clothing. Even today, wool is a staple in the clothing of astronauts, polar scientists, and explorers of the mountains and oceans.
